Our mission is to create healthy and energy efficient home environments in partnership with families and communities. Our programs include weatherization, lead hazard education and control, healthy homes education and remediation and training.
Our programs include Weatherization; Lead hazard education, risk assessments, inspections and rehabilitation; Radon testing and mitigation; Mold education and remediation, as well as Healthy Homes and building science related training for homeowners and professionals.
Since 1977, we have weatherized over 13,000 Minnesota homes. As a leader in outreach and education in the treatment of lead, we have tested thousands of children for lead poisoning, made more than 1,500 owner-occupied and rental homes lead-safe, and trained hundreds of people on how to successfully address home hazards. SRC holds a Minnesota General Contractors license and employs licensed Risk Assessors, Lead Supervisors, Lead Workers, Healthy Homes Practitioners, and Certified Building Analysts.
Our vision is that all people live in homes that are energy efficient, healthy indoor air quality, free of excess moisture, mold, toxins and pests. Building on our record of success and to increase the impact of our work, we have adopted a comprehensive healthy homes model of intervention to ensure homes are healthy for their occupants.
SRC is affiliated with the National Center for Healthy Housing, Building Performance Institute, Minnesota Weatherization Advisory Group, Minnesota Building Performance Association, and a member of Efficiency First and the MN Building Performance Network.
