Whether you provide health, remodeling, or inspection services of any kind, this course will help you develop not only -a better understanding of the connection between health and housing, but especially how to use an holistic approach to identifying and resolving problems which threaten the health and well-being of residents.
The National Center for Healthy Housing designed this course for professionals working in the area of affordable housing, inspection services, community service delivery, and public health. This course has been approved for Continuing Education Credit hours.
Effective April 20, 2010, federal law requires anyone working in pre-1978 residential properties, childcare facilities, or schools to be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
In partnership with the National Center for Healthy Housing (an EPA accredited training provider), SRC hosts this course to train contractors, property managers/landlords, painters, plumbers, electricians, and others to become Certified Lead-Based Paint Renovators, including understanding proper lead-safe work practices. This course has been approved by the MN Dept. of Labor & Industry for seven hours of Continuing Education for licensed building contractors.
Homeowners, whether enrolled in our grant program or not, can learn the proper techniques to work lead-safe in this four-hour course. Find out how to protect yourself and others from lead poisoning. Offered in both English and Spanish. Participants receive a certification of attendance upon passing a short exam.
