Lead Testing
If your
home was built before 1960 and you have children ages 6 or younger,
consider having your home tested for lead. A good time to do it
is before you more into a new home or before you have a baby.
You also
may want to test your home if it has painted surfaces that are in
poor condition. Before you begin home repair or remodeling projects,
test any painted surfaces that will be removed or remodeled. Disturbing
lead-based paint can create a lead-poisoning hazard. (See
