CLEARCorps
CLEARCorps
is an AmeriCorps National Service Network Program working to reduce
childhood lead poisoning in the housing of low-income families.
Teams of CLEARCorps members are trained to educate the community
on lead risk reduction, while repairing, cleaning, and painting
homes to reduce lead levels.
The Minneapolis
CLEARCorps site is hosted by the Sustainable Resources Center, a
28-year-old environmental organization located at 1916 2nd Avenue
South in the Stevens Square neighborhood.
SRCs
CLEARCorps program works in both urban and rural areas of Minnesota.
Our CLEARCorps members reduce lead levels in housing, provide landscaping
services to cover up lead in soils, and educate community members
on the dangers of lead.
CLEARCorps
members serve a one-year term of service. New members are added
to the team at various times of the year. In return for their service,
Corps members receive an annual living stipend of $12,000, health
insurance, a child care allowance, and an education award of $4,725
upon successful completion of service. We are looking for applicants
who are age 17 or older, enjoy a challenge, thrive as part of a
team, and want to get things done in the community.
