Our Mission

Partner with families and communities to create healthy home environments.

Goals

Develop healthy homes that are safe from environmental hazards, energy efficient and have good indoor air quality.

Educate families with children in culturally sensitive ways about how to create healthy home environments and to ensure safety for all.

Launch public education efforts with families and the public that give knowledge and tools for how to protect households from environmental health hazards and improve energy efficiency.

Build community partnerships and leverage the resources of community partners to implement the mission.

Implement advocacy and public policy initiatives that reduce barriers to services for families and create new resources to develop healthy home environments.

Execute a communications plan that enhances SRC's leadership role as a major resource for knowledge, tools and best practices.

Engage researchers and community leaders in projects that enhance learning and best practices.

SRC's Vision is that all families with low-incomes in Minnesota are healthy and live in healthy home environments. Families must be able to identify in-home environmental toxins and have the information, skills and resources to be safe from the negative effects. SRC believes that barriers to service should be removed so that health, housing, education and other human and funding resources are made easily available to families. SRC's policies have been established so that services are family friendly and involve everyone in the work of creating and sustaining healthy homes.
