The Community Lead Education and Reduction Corps (CLEARCorps) is part of the AmeriCorps National Service Network. The program is a public-private partnership that combines the financial, human and technical resources of the federal government, private sector, and community groups to address the critical issue of lead exposure in housing. The target cities for the program are Baltimore, MD; Detroit, MI; Minneapolis, MN; Pittsburgh, PA; Houston, TX; Grand Rapids, MI; Cincinnati, OH; and Providence, RI. The Minneapolis CLEARCorps site is piloting a Minnesota-wide rural lead reduction program.

The objectives for CLEARCorps are threefold:

1) reductions in children’s lead exposure risk;

2) a community educated about lead exposure and empowered to act to reduce risk; and

3) a corps of trained members whose program-acquired skills will directly relate to the future job market.

Minnesota CLEARCorps provides free educational services, free home lead risk assessments, and lead hazard reduction services for qualified homeowners or tenants. Contact us to learn more about what CLEARCorps can do for you. Or check our links to visit the national CLEARCorps website.
